Weihnachten

Okay, Merry Christmas everybody! i know it’s a bit late, but i hope u don’t mind.

My christmas has just been amazin,a proper kiwi-holiday…i spent it near new plymouth in a bach (holyday house) right at the beachfront. i went fishin, swimmin and surfin…and well, just havin an amazing time. i went there with leon and his family, his parents, his brother and his sister with her husband and their 3 kiddies, 4year old twin boys and a 8 year old girl.they were cute as hell, man….

Except from spending a lot of time on the beach we went to New Plymouth one day…visiting the festival of lights at the botanical gardens, the garden itself was amazing but together with all those light installations it’s even been way more prettier…check this out:

  

So now i’m back at the hostel an it’s quite weird cause most of the people who stayed here for a longer term moved out now…it’s just hélouise left…so i hope there will be some new fun people stayin here, i mean it is booked out at the moment, but i’ve not really seen anyone yet…well, i’ll go for a skate first anyway :) and then i’ll do my washin an have a look round what’s goin on in the hostel…:D

Botanical Gardens and Napier

Me and Dave are going out for a walk almost every night, and here are some pics of the scenery we get…

This is Napier at sunset:

Today we went to Napier’s Botanical Garden…and summer’s about to begin over here, so everything’s growing and there are heaps of flowers…just beautiful…flowers lots of flowers ( do you remember the icq greeting “flowers, lots of flowers”?)

And yes, this is just one tree, with 8 branches growing straight up, so it looks like a couple of trees, but in reality it’s only one…pretty amazing, ey?

Well back to the Hostel...

we do have a christmas tree now...isn't it beautiful...but apart from that, it is hard to feel christmassy here...it's too warm and there isn't as much decoration as there would be in Europe...and the decoration that you do find is kitsch...most of it...and i'll spent christmas together with leon (that guy from work) and his family in New Plymouth...i have no idea how it is goin to be like..probably spending heaps of time outside, beach, boots and barbecues...well at least i'll have proper kiwi-xmas and a 5day holiday :) i'm really looking forward to that...

And have a look, what a girl from the hostel found in a magazine…a pic, that honestly does look like me…it took me half a minute myself to figure out whether it is me or not ;D

Well..it’s not that obvious in this pic, but it really does look like me…it’s my secret twin; mum, dad, do you have any confessions to make^^?

My favourite fluffy flowers, they grow next to the hostel as well, and i always pick some for our vases….they’re fluffy and cute..:D they look like pfeifenreiniger..

Tangoio Falls

hey ho….so heut war ma nen ausflug angesagt…ab zu den Wasserfaellen ca 20min von Napier entfernt, war ziemlich cool da…nen schoener wanderweg zum aussichtspunkt rauf und dann noch nen abstecher zum unteren Becken….

Und natuerlich hab ichs mir nicht nehmen lassen einfach ma ins Wasser zu springen und unterm Wasserfall herzuschwimmen, hat irre Spaß gemacht :)

Und die Landschaft war einfach ueberwaeltigend…20minuten von Napier entfernt und man war mitten im nzugewucherten Wald…Den Ausflug hab ich zusammen mit 2 deutschen Jungs gemacht, die hier im Hostel wohnen und momentan beim Apple thinning arbeiten….nur da es angeblich in stroemen regnen sollte ham sie den tag frei bekommen…naja umso besser fuer mich :) heut abend wollen wir, je nach Wetterlage in den botanischen Garten in Napier….soll ne ganz schoene Park Anlage sein…ma schaun…

Ansonsten bin ich grad dabei zu planen mit wem und wo ich Weihnachten verbringen, wahrscheinlich werd ich mir 3,4 tage frei nehmen und wegfahrn…ich bin bei Eelco eingeladen, dem Typ mit dem ich durch Northland gereist bin, oder ich fahre mit nem Arbeitskollegen nach New Plymouth…ma schaun…sind ja noch ca 3 Wochen….und hier kommt es einem eh nicht wie Weihnachten vor…;) zu warm und alles :D wobei Santa hier in NZ auch seinen Pelzmantel traegt und die Weihnachtsdeko Schnee beinhaltet…naja…anyway…

PS. tja papa jetz hab ich wohl doch Sonne, Mond und Sterne…und einiges mehr auf mich draufgemalt…aber keine Sorge is nur permanent marker :D
